Barktober Fest

You and your pup are invited to Barktober on Sunday, October 1st from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the Plaza. Barktober is a celebration of our furry friends and promises to be a tail-wagging good time for both dogs and humans. The event is benefitting the Foothills Animal Shelter and we are requesting donations from their Amazon wish list that can be dropped off at their booth or mailed directly to the shelter. KONG Company will match each item donated with a KONG treat or toy donation to the shelter! Please put “Barktober” in the gift message so we can track donations.

There will be a Pawkin Patch, a photo booth, a selfie station, a Doggone Bar, Hayrides, a DJ, and activities for your pup (and you). The Barkin’ Market will feature dog vendors offering delicious treats, stylish accessories, and unique toys for your four-legged companions.

THREE COOL ATTRACTIONS HAPPENING AT OUR 2023 BARKTOBER FEST:

At 12:30 PM we will be announcing the 2023/24 Honorary Downtown Lakewood Dog Mayor. You can enter your dog into the Mayoral race from August 28th through September 25th.

At 1:00 PM we are hosting a DOG TALENT SHOW, sponsored by Alameda Connects. If your dog has a special talent, you need to enter them into the show for a chance to win some great prizes! The show starts at 12:30 PM.

Barktober Fest isn’t just a one-day event. On October 1st we are kicking off a dog-friendly walkabout where you and your pup can walk around Belmar to find special QR codes with cool deals for you (and some for your pup, too).
